A Journey Together

In Gbarnga, Liberia, the morning comes alive with the crow of a rooster and the sound of singing, filling the air just as the sun rises. Outside of the construction site of the Jesus Loves Me Children's Center, dozens of construction workers gather under a palm pavilion to worship together before they begin their work day.

Lead engineer, Darryl Byle, follows their songs with a devotional time and prayer. This has been the routine every day for the past three years, as the team closes in on finishing the construction of an 18,000 square foot health center, set to serve 30,000 children in their community.

Over these years, the group that gathers here has grown. Some among them have discovered newfound faith in Jesus Christ, while others have left behind addiction and other burdens they were carrying. Many of the men have returned to their families with renewed devotion, striving each day to embody the love of Christ within their homes.

This might seem like just another construction project. But it is so much more. It's a living, breathing example of a vibrant church community.
